Privacy Policy.
This policy explains what information AoE Fans uses when you browse lobbies, rankings, and player statistics.
Information shown by the site
The site displays public game-service information such as player aliases, profile identifiers, country codes, ratings, match records, lobby names, and lobby settings. This information comes from the World’s Edge game service and is visible to other players through Age of Empires II services.
Information saved on your device
Your browser may save favorites, watched players, saved searches, lobby alerts, filters, compact-view settings, and hero-display preferences. These settings stay in your browser’s local storage and are not used to identify you across websites.
Notifications
If you enable lobby notifications, your browser stores the permission and displays alerts on your device. You can revoke notification permission through your browser settings.
Private site analytics
The hosting and delivery providers may process basic connection information, including IP address, browser information, request timestamps, and security logs, to deliver and protect the site. AoE Fans records page views, anonymous visits, referring-site categories, approximate country, device type, likely automated traffic, feature interactions, performance ranges, and API errors for its private administrator dashboard. Country is derived locally from the request address before the visit is saved. It does not record search text, lobby names, or player names for analytics.
To count unique visits, the server converts the visitor IP address and browser signature into a one-way keyed code before saving it. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the analytics database, and the code cannot be used across other websites. Analytics records are deleted after 90 days. The tracker honors browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals and can be disabled on the Cookie Preferences page.
Browsers that successfully sign in to the private administrator console receive a signed first-party owner marker. This lets the dashboard separate the site owner’s visits from other visitors. The marker does not contain an IP address or grant access to the admin console.
Data sales and accounts
AoE Fans does not sell personal information, share analytics with advertisers or third-party analytics providers, or currently provide user accounts. If the site’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes take effect.
